Emma, Lady Hamilton (Born 26th April 1765 - Died 15th January 1815), painted by the artist George Romney (who was infatuated with her beauty and made her his life-long muse).

She was the mistress of Admiral Lord Nelson and reputed to have been one of the most beautiful women of her time. Charming, witty and captivating, she was a talented performer of classical poses referred to as ‘Attitudes’.

I’ve always thought Emma had a gorgeous face and I really wish I could have seen her in real life. Her story is an up-and-down ride and ended like a Greek tragedy.

I’d highly recommend reading 'England's Mistress: The Infamous Life of Emma Hamilton' by Kate Williams.
